Webull launches Bitcoin perpetual futures via Kalshi
Webull (Nasdaq: BULL) plans to offer Bitcoin perpetual futures, along with a few other crypto perpetuals, to eligible US clients in November 2026. The exact launch day has not been specified; the timing is given only as a month.
What is happening
Webull announced on October 20, 2026 that it is partnering with prediction-market operator Kalshi to bring crypto perpetual futures to its brokerage platform. Trades will be routed through KalshiEX LLC, Kalshi's exchange entity, which is overseen by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Webull provides distribution to more than 6 million clients, while Kalshi provides the regulated venue.
The first product lineup will feature Bitcoin (BTC) and a handful of other crypto assets. Webull expects to widen the product menu later in the year, pending regulatory approvals. The move follows Webull's September 2026 launch of event contracts tied to Bitcoin and Ethereum, which let traders take a yes-or-no position on an outcome such as whether a price lands above a given level.
Perpetual futures differ from traditional futures because they never expire, so traders do not need to roll positions forward. Instead, a periodic funding fee keeps the contract price aligned with the spot price: traders on one side of the market pay those on the other, depending on whether the contract trades above or below spot. Earlier in 2026, the CFTC approved the first US perpetual futures contracts, with Coinbase and Kalshi among the initial approvals. Webull is connecting to Kalshi's already approved venue rather than seeking its own approval.
Why it matters
Perpetuals have long been concentrated on offshore exchanges. Global perpetual futures volume topped $90 trillion in 2025, and much of it came from crypto derivatives, where perpetuals have become the default trading instrument. Access through a regulated US brokerage gives American clients a domestic route to this type of product. For Kalshi, the deal extends its reach beyond its own user base and positions it as infrastructure for a major retail brokerage. It also means two of the first US-approved venues, Coinbase and Kalshi, are now competing for the same pool of American traders through different distribution strategies.
For traders, perpetuals are derivatives with their own cost structure. Funding fees apply for as long as a position is held, and they can be paid or collected depending on market conditions. The announcement drew a positive market reaction, according to the research, though no specific stock price figures were reported. What to watch is how many of Webull's clients choose to trade a product with funding fees and no expiry date, and whether additional assets are added later in the year.
