Clearpool CPOOL-to-CLEAR migration and XRPL expansion implementation
Clearpool is targeting the fourth quarter of 2026 (October to December) to implement the approved one-for-one conversion of CPOOL into CLEAR and its expansion onto the XRP Ledger. The exact launch day has not been announced, and the plan involves the CPOOL, CLEAR and XRP coins.
What is happening
Clearpool token holders approved the migration through a Snapshot governance vote, which recorded 97.16% support. Clearpool announced the result on October 5 and said further implementation details would follow. Independent coverage from TokenPost and 36Crypto confirms the approval, the conversion ratio and the quarterly target.
Under the governance design, CLEAR continues to be issued natively as an ERC-20 token, while part of the new supply is bridged to the XRP Ledger to fund product incentives. Not every CLEAR balance is expected to leave Ethereum. The vote establishes a plan, not a completed transfer or a working lending market.
The XRPL product is a lending arrangement that uses RLUSD for loans and repayments. Clearpool supplies the lending infrastructure, Cicada Partners handles borrower assessment and monitoring, and Ripple is described as a capital provider. As of an October 11 check, Clearpool's product page still marked its XRP Ledger offering as "coming soon", and reporting treats the lending launch as a separate, outstanding step from the token conversion.
Why it matters
For CPOOL holders, approval shifts the question from whether to authorize the strategy to how it will be carried out: which instructions apply, which assets are affected and which exchanges and custodians will support the new token. A one-for-one ratio states how many CLEAR units a migrating holder is meant to receive, but not where the balance will sit or how it will move between networks. Details such as official asset identifiers, supported networks and any deadlines are expected from later Clearpool announcements, and nothing should be assumed before they are published.
For traders and XRP-focused readers, a governance result shows organizational intent, not measured demand. It does not show XRP purchased, funds committed to a product or fees from live customers. The sources also leave open the final bridge implementation, its control model and whether a security review has been completed. Useful milestones to watch include a dated migration notice, exchange and custodian support announcements, completed conversion records, published bridge documentation and an XRPL lending launch with accessible terms and funded activity.
