Web3 Incubation Program investor Demo Day
During the week of January 18, 2027, graduating startups from the Web3 Incubation Program will present to investors at a Demo Day. The program is built around the Hedera ecosystem, so HBAR is the coin involved.
What is happening
The Web3 Incubation Program is run by Dar Blockchain in partnership with The Hashgraph Association, Wiki Startup and UGFS North Africa, with Softstack joining as Security Partner. It started on October 1, 2026, and runs through January 2027. The program is a milestone-driven venture-building initiative meant to turn winners and projects from the Hedera Africa hackathon into investment-ready startups.
The program guides 18 selected ventures from four continents, with founders from Nigeria, Egypt, India, Brazil, the United States and other countries. The goal is to graduate at least five seed-ready companies by the investor Demo Day. Teams receive 21 workshops, tailored execution roadmaps, individual expert support and introductions to ecosystem partners and investors. By the third milestone gate, the program aims for more than 60 percent of ventures to have signed letters of intent or active pilots.
Part of the US$900,000 hackathon prize pool allocated to winning teams is earmarked for continued support during the program, covering product development, technical implementation, market validation and business execution. The curriculum focuses on software architecture, security and deploying production-ready products on the Hedera mainnet, including its native token and consensus services.
Why it matters
The program targets the gap between winning a hackathon and building a sustainable business. The Demo Day is the point where the graduating teams show investors what they have built, and where the program's aim of attracting follow-on investment becomes visible.
For HBAR holders and traders, the event is a signal of ecosystem activity rather than a protocol change. The program builds on the Hedera Africa Hackathon, which the sources describe as the world's largest Web3 hackathon, with 13,000+ developers and 1,300+ project submissions. Products moving to the Hedera mainnet may add usage of the network's token and consensus services, but the sources do not quantify any such effect. What to watch: which teams present, whether the target of at least five seed-ready companies is met, and any announced investment or pilots.
