There he unveiled Veria as a new public blockchain that the team describes as secure, scalable and decentralized. The mainnet is planned to go live in Q1 2027 and will serve as the underlying chain for Whisper, which combines messaging, a wallet, swaps and dApp discovery in a single app.

Veria is built on the Equilibrium architecture, covered by US Patent No. 12,586,064 B2, which Lee co-invented and holds under his legal name, Jung Geun Lee. The design pairs a non-competitive consensus model with micro-chains. Different kinds of activity, such as payments, messaging, gaming and exchange, run on separate chains instead of competing for space on one.

According to the team, the underlying technology has already been piloted in real-time on-chain payments at the Jeju Food & Wine Festival. It has also been tested for consensus participation on low-power hardware, including a Raspberry Pi.
