Pendle PT-USDG October maturity on Aave X Layer
On October 29, 2026, the Pendle principal token PT-USDG used as collateral on Aave's X Layer market reaches maturity. The event involves USDG and AAVE, and a proposed rollover would let borrowers move into a replacement token maturing in February 2027.
What is happening
The October PT-USDG token is a Pendle principal token, a discounted claim on USDG that redeems at maturity. When it matures, a proposal would cut its loan-to-value on Aave's X Layer market to zero, which removes borrowing headroom against the old collateral. The check for liquidation still depends on each position's health factor, which is set by collateral value, debt and liquidation thresholds.
The proposal from TokenLogic would enable a flash-loan transaction that temporarily repays debt, swaps the old PT collateral for the new one, borrows again and repays the flash loan. OKX would build that integration separately, so both the Aave listing and the OKX integration would need to be implemented. Risk provider LlamaRisk also recommended a new borrowing category, E-Mode 9, with a 91.48% loan-to-value limit, a 93.48% liquidation threshold and a 35 million PT supply cap. USDT0, GHO and USDC are listed as borrowable assets there, while USDG is not.
Market readings from October 10 put the February PT's implied yield at about 2.98%, against variable borrowing rates of 4.12% for USDT0, 5.87% for USDC and 3.75% for USDG. That is roughly 1.11% gross appreciation over the period to February 25. A related OKX Wallet bonus campaign for the October token ends on October 28, and the wallet's rules say PT positions do not roll over automatically at maturity.
Why it matters
For borrowers, the maturity turns a technical migration into an economic decision. A rollover can preserve access to borrowing, but it also resets the collateral's yield at the new purchase price. With the replacement PT yielding less than most quoted borrowing costs, the result depends on leverage, execution costs and whether any rewards apply. LlamaRisk's illustration shows that at higher leverage, financing costs can exceed the PT's gross gain.
For market participants, the scale and liquidity are relevant. About 59.79 million October PT units were supplied as collateral on October 10, while the February pool held roughly $1.42 million of reported liquidity, so the size of any migration depends on quotes and acceptable slippage. Positions that do not move before maturity lose borrowing capacity and may become more exposed to liquidation.
