Pendle PT-USDG February 2027 maturity (Aave rollover target)
⚠ The date is not confirmed yet and may change.
The Pendle principal token for USDG that matures on 25 February 2027 is the proposed replacement collateral in Aave's X Layer rollover. The date is tentative: it depends on the Aave proposal and a separate OKX integration both being implemented. The coins involved are USDG and AAVE.
What is happening
TokenLogic has proposed that holders of the Pendle PT-USDG token maturing on 29 October 2026 move into a replacement token maturing on 25 February 2027. The plan would enable a flash-loan transaction that temporarily repays debt, swaps the old PT collateral for the new one, borrows again and repays the flash loan. OKX would develop that integration separately, and both the Aave listing and the OKX integration would need to be implemented before the rollover works.
A Pendle PT is a discounted claim on an underlying asset at maturity. For this market, LlamaRisk describes redemption as one PT for one USDG. The return from holding to maturity comes from the purchase discount, while the variable yield and points go to the yield token.
LlamaRisk's 8 October assessment recommends a new Aave borrowing category, E-Mode 9, with a 91.48% loan-to-value limit, a 93.48% liquidation threshold and a 35 million PT supply cap. Its proposed list of borrowable assets includes USDT0, GHO and USDC, but not USDG. The February pool reported roughly $1.42 million of liquidity, which limits how much can be migrated at acceptable slippage.
Why it matters
The economics of the rollover differ from the earlier position. On 10 October, the February PT implied yield was about 2.98% annualized, while variable borrowing on Aave's X Layer market was 4.12% for USDT0, 5.87% for USDC and 3.75% for USDG. Over the roughly 137 days to maturity, the PT's gross appreciation is about 1.11%. LlamaRisk's illustration, which excludes rewards and transaction costs, shows thin positive returns at two times exposure and negative returns at five times exposure.
For borrowers, this means the ability to move collateral in one transaction does not by itself make extending the position worthwhile. Outcomes depend on entry price, actual funding costs, leverage, trading fees and reward eligibility. LlamaRisk also notes that loop users' profitability has relied on external OKX incentives, and that the end of those incentives would likely encourage unwinding. Reward terms cited in the sources apply to the October token, so February eligibility requires separate terms.
