PancakeSwap fee split and CAKE emission cut rollout
⚠ The date is not confirmed yet and may change.
PancakeSwap has proposed raising the liquidity provider fee share on its v3 and Infinity pools to 88% across all 11 supported chains and cutting daily CAKE emissions from 22,500 to 7,000 tokens. The rollout is tentatively planned to begin in November 2026 and finish by the end of January 2027; the exact start date is not confirmed.
What is happening
The proposal would uniformly set the LP fee split for v3 and Infinity at 88% on every chain where PancakeSwap operates. The protocol's share would fall to 12% and be directed to the treasury. v2 pools would remain unchanged. Trading rates for users would stay the same.
Alongside the fee change, the plan reduces daily CAKE emissions from 22,500 to 7,000 tokens, a cut of about 69%. All 7,000 daily tokens would be allocated to Pantry, the ecosystem growth fund. According to the proposal, this lowers yearly minting by roughly 5.7 million CAKE. Total CAKE supply has fallen by 11.5% since Tokenomics 3.0 was approved in April 2025, and the proposal aims to keep the target of about a 20% supply reduction by 2030.
Implementation is scheduled to start two weeks after proposal approval, with the rollout expected to take about three months. The proposal is currently under community discussion and is expected to go to a Snapshot vote later. Because the vote has not taken place, the timeline and terms may still change.
Why it matters
Based on 2025 trading volume estimates, the proposal projects that liquidity providers would earn an additional $62 million in fees. It also expects liquidity depth to increase by up to around 30% and price impact to fall by roughly 20%-25%, which would matter for traders who rely on tighter execution. These figures are the proposal's own estimates, not outcomes.
For CAKE holders, the main change is on the supply side: a much lower emission rate reduces new token issuance, while a smaller protocol fee share shifts more of the trading revenue toward LPs. How these two changes balance out depends on the vote result and on actual trading activity. Holders and traders may want to follow the discussion and Snapshot vote, since the final parameters could differ from the current draft.
