BNB Chain "0 Fee Carnival" stablecoin gas-free transfers end
The gas-free window for stablecoin transfers on BNB Smart Chain closes at 23:59 UTC on October 31, 2026, after which normal network fees apply again. The campaign covers USDC, USD1 and the U token, and the event is confirmed.
What is happening
BNB Chain's "0 Fee Carnival" waives gas on three kinds of stablecoin movement: withdrawals from participating exchanges, direct wallet-to-wallet transfers on BNB Smart Chain, and bridging USDC in from other blockchains over two bridge providers. The operator has already extended the campaign several times and says it has covered more than $4.5 million in gas fees for users, a figure that cannot be verified independently.
Withdrawal fees for the named tokens are waived at Binance, Bitget, MEXC, Ourbit, BingX, LBank and HTX, although available routes differ by venue and some run via the opBNB layer. For direct transfers, USD1 and U are unlimited, while USDC allows two free transfers per user per day, with a minimum amount of ten cents. Supported wallets include Binance Wallet, Trust Wallet, SafePal, TokenPocket, Coin98 and imToken.
For bringing USDC onto the chain, Celer cBridge charges zero fee for transfers from Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, Avalanche and Optimism. Meson.fi uses a full rebate instead and also accepts Tron as a source network; a rebate means the fee is fronted first and refunded afterwards. Exchanges set minimum withdrawal amounts, reportedly roughly five to twenty dollars depending on the provider, and smaller withdrawals pay the regular fee. The waiver applies only to the listed assets and networks.
Why it matters
Gas on BNB Smart Chain is paid in BNB and is typically a fraction of a dollar, so the saving on a single transfer is small. It is more noticeable for users who make many small movements or who planned to move a balance from an exchange to a self-custody address. Once the window closes, those transfers carry the normal network fee again.
The deadline is also a practical reminder for anyone moving stablecoins: check that the receiving address and network match, and confirm with the provider which of the three tokens is supported and licensed for your jurisdiction. A waived fee says nothing about an exchange's regulatory status or a token's compliance. Swapping one stablecoin for another may also count as a taxable disposal in some jurisdictions, regardless of transfer costs.
