ArgentinaBinance VELODROME to AERO token merge and AERO contract swap
On November 3, 2026, at 03:00 UTC, Binance will remove VELODROME spot trading as part of the merger of Velodrome Finance's VELODROME token into Aerodrome's AERO token. The same event includes a 1:1 swap of the old AERO contract to a new one, with a wind-down of VELODROME services across Binance products beginning earlier.
What is happening
Binance will support the VELODROME token merge into AERO at a ratio of 1 VELODROME = 0.044 AERO, together with a contract swap in which each old AERO token becomes one new AERO token. Binance says it will handle all technical requirements for affected users. The project team has published its own details on the AERO upgrade page.
On the spot market, the VELODROME/USDT pair and all pending VELODROME orders will be removed at 03:00 UTC on November 3. Trading on existing AERO spot pairs will not be affected. At 03:30 UTC, deposits and withdrawals of both VELODROME and AERO will be suspended. VELODROME deposits and withdrawals will not be supported again after the event, while Binance will announce separately when AERO deposits and withdrawals reopen.
Several other services wind down ahead of that date. Margin borrowing on the pair is suspended on October 20, and VELODROME is removed from Cross and Isolated Margin on October 28. The USDⓈ-M VELODROMEUSDT perpetual contract stops accepting new positions at 08:30 UTC on October 28 and is settled at 09:00 UTC. Flexible loans involving VELODROME close on October 28, Binance Pay support ends on October 30, and Simple Earn Flexible positions are redeemed from November 2. Binance plans to resubscribe the converted AERO assets for affected Simple Earn users after November 6, 08:00 UTC. The AEROUSDT perpetual contract is unaffected.
Why it matters
For VELODROME holders on Binance, the event ends the token's availability on the exchange and converts balances into AERO at the stated ratio. Anyone with open orders, futures positions, margin positions, loans or bots tied to VELODROME has to act before the earlier deadlines, since Binance will close or settle those automatically.
The merge also changes AERO's token economics. Total supply rises from 2 billion to 2.12 billion, and circulating supply increases from 1 billion to 1.07 billion. Traders and holders of AERO may want to note the temporary suspension of AERO deposits and withdrawals and the risk warning that Binance will display on the AERO trading page.
