LABITCONF 2026 (14th edition, HODL)
The 14th edition of LABITCONF, the Latin American Bitcoin & Blockchain Conference, takes place on October 30 and 31, 2026 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The event is centered on Bitcoin (BTC) and is held under the theme HODL.
What is happening
The conference runs on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31 at BAFerial (formerly Costa Salguero), as part of Tecweek. More than 150 speakers are scheduled across five stages, covering Bitcoin, blockchain and their integration with artificial intelligence.
Announced speakers include economist Saifedean Ammous, author of The Bitcoin Standard, who will make his first visit to South America. Others include Giovanni Santostasi, creator of the Bitcoin Power Law Theory; David Zell of the Bitcoin Policy Institute; Giacomo Zucco of Plan ₿ Network; and Graeme Moore of Project Eleven, whose talk will address post-quantum security for digital assets. Local participants include executives from Ripio, Bitso, Belo, Nexo Argentina and Mercado Libre, along with government representatives, economists and Spanish-language Bitcoin podcasters.
The five stages are ABC (an introduction for newcomers), Orange Pill (ideas and values around Bitcoin), Vision (future technologies), Workshop/Coders (hands-on development) and VIP-Business (business and networking, for Business and Experience ticket holders). The HODL theme is presented as a long-term view of Bitcoin as money, a store of value, infrastructure, public policy and a tool for inclusion.
Why it matters
LABITCONF describes itself as the oldest Bitcoin and blockchain conference in the world and the most prominent in Latin America, running since 2013. For the regional community, it is a gathering point for developers, companies, policy voices and users, with discussion of topics such as scalability, privacy, security and AI-driven payments.
For holders and traders, the event is mainly a source of information and sentiment: talks on market analysis, institutional OTC activity, post-quantum security and government policy may shape discussion in the Spanish-speaking ecosystem. Announcements or statements made on stage are worth following, though a conference does not by itself imply any change in the Bitcoin protocol or market.
