Pendle PT-USDG (29 Oct 2026) maturity on X Layer
On 29 October 2026, the Pendle principal token PT-USDG used as collateral on Aave's X Layer market reaches maturity. Once it matures, its loan-to-value is proposed to drop to zero, so borrowers holding USDG-linked positions must unwind them or migrate to a replacement token.
What is happening
The PT-USDG token maturing on 29 October is a Pendle principal token, a discounted claim that redeems one-for-one for USDG at maturity. It is supplied as collateral on Aave's X Layer market. At maturity, the proposal sets its loan-to-value to zero, which removes borrowing headroom against it. Under Aave's liquidation mechanics, eligibility depends on the health factor falling below one, which is determined by collateral value, debt and liquidation thresholds.
A proposal by TokenLogic, assessed by risk provider LlamaRisk on 8 October, would let borrowers roll into a new PT-USDG maturing on 25 February 2027. The migration would use a flash-loan transaction that temporarily repays debt, swaps the old PT collateral for the new one, borrows again and repays the flash loan. OKX would build that integration separately, and both the Aave listing and the OKX integration would need to be implemented.
LlamaRisk recommends a new borrowing category, E-Mode 9, with a 91.48% loan-to-value limit, a 93.48% liquidation threshold and a 35 million PT supply cap. At the time of the review, about 66.03 million October PT units were supplied as collateral, and the February pool had roughly $1.42 million of reported liquidity, which may limit how much can be migrated at once. Separately, the OKX Wallet bonus campaign for the October token ends on 28 October.
Why it matters
For borrowers, the maturity is both an operational and an economic decision. The February PT showed an implied yield of about 2.98% on 10 October, below quoted variable borrowing rates for USDT0 (4.12%), USDC (5.87%) and USDG (3.75%). Leveraged carry on the new position can therefore be thin or negative, depending on entry price, fees, slippage and leverage. Existing October PT holders keep their original purchase yield, but the replacement resets it at the new price.
Rewards add uncertainty. LlamaRisk links participating loop users' profitability to external OKX incentives and says that their end would likely encourage users to unwind. Terms for the October campaign do not automatically carry over to the February token. OKX Wallet rules also state that PT positions are not automatically redeemed or rolled over at maturity. Traders and holders may want to watch whether the Aave listing and OKX integration go live before 29 October, how much liquidity the February pool offers, and whether positions with low health factors are unwound.
