Binance delists VELODROMEUSDT perpetual futures contract
On 28 October 2026 at 09:00 UTC, Binance Futures will close all open positions and automatically settle the USDⓈ-M VELODROMEUSDT Perpetual contract, after which the contract will be removed. The delisting is part of Binance's support for the merger of the Velodrome Finance (VELODROME) token into Aerodrome (AERO).
What is happening
From 08:30 UTC on 28 October 2026, users will no longer be able to open new positions on the VELODROMEUSDT perpetual contract. At 09:00 UTC, Binance Futures will close all remaining positions and run an automatic settlement. The Binance Funding Rate Arbitrage Bot will also close all arbitrage strategies on the VELODROMEUSDT symbol and settle them automatically. Users are advised to close open positions before the settlement time to avoid automatic settlement.
During the final hour before settlement, the Futures Insurance Fund will not be used to support liquidations on this contract. Liquidations in that window will be executed as a single Immediate or Cancel order, and any portion left unfilled will be handled through Auto-Deleveraging (ADL). Binance also notes that it may adjust leverage limits, margin tiers, funding rates, price index constituents or Mark Price mechanisms without further announcements. The USDⓈ-M AEROUSDT perpetual contract is not affected.
The futures removal is one step in a wider schedule. All VELODROME tokens will be swapped to AERO at a ratio of 1 VELODROME = 0.044 AERO, and old AERO will be swapped to new AERO at 1:1. Other timed steps include the suspension of VELODROME margin borrowing on 20 October, the closing of VELODROME loans on 28 October, and the removal of VELODROME spot trading pairs on 3 November 2026 at 03:00 UTC.
Why it matters
For traders holding VELODROMEUSDT perpetual positions, the key practical point is the hard deadline: positions not closed in advance will be settled automatically at 09:00 UTC. The final hour before settlement may bring heightened volatility and reduced liquidity, and the changed liquidation handling means that unfilled liquidations can lead to ADL rather than insurance fund support.
For VELODROME holders more broadly, the delisting reflects the token merge into AERO. Binance states that after the merger the total supply of AERO will rise from 2 billion to 2.12 billion and the circulating supply from 1 billion to 1.07 billion. Holders should review the project team's upgrade announcement and the full Binance notice for the timetable covering spot, margin, loans, Simple Earn and other services.
