NVNM Chain Layer 1 testnet launch
NVNM Chain opened its sovereign Layer 1 testnet on 15 October 2026, giving institutions and developers an environment to build and test applications that anchor cryptographic proofs of AI agent activity. The network has no native gas token, and no specific coins are tied to the event.
What is happening
The testnet is live and open to developers. It is built around a native attestation precompile, which makes every record from an autonomous agent or developer follow a single chain-enforced format, with built-in role controls and persistent wallet identities for each agent. Proprietary source files stay on the owner's private infrastructure; only cryptographic fingerprints are committed onchain, so counterparties and regulators can verify provenance, state and decision integrity on a public ledger.
Each attestation records three proofs: Proof of Origin (which source a data point came from), Proof of Process (how an agent transformed it) and Proof of State (what the data looked like at a given moment). Demonstrated use cases include legal citation verification (NVNM Cite), real estate and sustainability data verification with Measurabl, and AI compute compliance (NVNM Trace) for tracking custody of advanced AI chips.
According to the project's whitepaper, the architecture pairs Reth execution with Commonware Simplex BFT consensus. Developers can connect a standard EVM wallet, request testnet nUSD from the faucet and deploy contracts against the attestation precompile, with instructions at docs.nvnmchain.io.
Why it matters
The launch moves NVNM Chain from concept to a working environment where its approach to auditable AI activity can be tested in practice. The project positions attestation as a built-in feature of the chain rather than an add-on, aimed at institutions that need to show what data informed an automated decision and be able to audit it later. Early participation by partners such as Measurabl gives a first view of how the model might apply to enterprise data.
For holders and traders, the relevance is currently limited. The network does not use a volatile native gas token: fees are paid in USD stablecoins through a built-in fee market and priced in dollars. This is a testnet, and testnet tokens such as nUSD have no stated market value. Observers may want to follow developer activity, the range of use cases deployed and any later announcements about a mainnet.
