Bybit Odds BTC/ETH Price Target and Price Range contracts expiry (post-U.S. midterm elections)

06 November 2026, Friday
Online Location
BTC · ETH · USDT Bybit

Bybit's BTC and ETH Price Target and Price Range contracts under the Bybit Odds product are set to expire on November 6, 2026 at 8:00 UTC, following the 2026 U.S. midterm elections. The contracts are allocated and settled in USDT.

What is happening

Bybit Odds is launching dedicated contracts on BTC and ETH built around the U.S. midterm elections. Both contract types share a single expiry: November 6, 2026 at 8AM UTC. Users choose a product, state their view, and allocate USDT from their Unified Trading Account. If the settlement price meets the chosen condition, the user receives a fixed return calculated as Allocation Amount × Payout Ratio. If it does not, the allocation is forfeited.

Two product types are offered. With Price Target, a user picks a side: "Above" wins if the settlement price lands above the Target Price, and "Below" wins if it lands below it. With Price Range, a user picks a zone: "In" wins if the settlement price falls between the Lower Bound and Upper Bound, and "Out" wins if it falls outside that range.

Settlement is based on the arithmetic mean of the index price sampled every second over the 30 minutes before 8AM UTC on the expiry date, rather than on a single price point at the moment of expiry.

Why it matters

For traders, these contracts offer a fixed-return way to express a view on how BTC and ETH may react to the outcome of the elections, without needing to hold a leveraged position. Price Range contracts also allow a view on volatility itself: "In" suits an expectation of a muted reaction, while "Out" suits an expectation of a sharp move in either direction. The outcome is binary, so the full allocation is at risk if the condition is not met.

The averaging window is worth noting for anyone participating. Because settlement uses a 30-minute average of per-second index prices, brief spikes right at 8AM UTC carry less weight than they would under a single-point settlement. Holders of BTC and ETH who do not use these contracts are not directly affected, but the expiry is a scheduled point of attention around election-related market moves.
