SoFi Q3 2026 earnings (first report that could include SOFIE balances)
SoFi is scheduled to report its third-quarter 2026 results on October 27, 2026. It is the first quarterly report that could show balances of SOFIE, the tokenized deposit the company launched on October 22, and it will also be watched for updates on its SoFiUSD stablecoin.
What is happening
SoFi launched SoFi Earn (SOFIE) on October 22. SOFIE is a tokenized deposit that pays a variable 4.4% annual yield and is eligible for FDIC insurance. Each SOFIE represents $1 on deposit at SoFi Bank. The rollout to SoFi Crypto members runs through November, so the earnings report will cover only the earliest stretch of the product's life.
Members can convert SOFIE 1:1 into SoFiUSD, the stablecoin issued by SoFi Bank, to buy crypto in the app or send funds to an outside wallet at any hour. SOFIE itself cannot leave SoFi. Converting ends the interest and the FDIC coverage on that amount, because SoFiUSD pays no interest and is not a deposit.
SoFiUSD launched in December 2025 for internal settlement and reached the SoFi app for nearly 15 million members in May. Business clients have settled in it around the clock since the second quarter, and SoFi said on September 22 that stablecoin settlement is live across its debit and credit card program on Mastercard. The company is moving the whole program, which it expects to process more than $25 billion a year, to SoFiUSD. Supply was about $347 million on October 21, with 71% on Solana, according to DefiLlama. SoFi Bank held $45.5 billion of deposits at the end of June.
Why it matters
The report offers a first look at whether SOFIE is gaining traction and how SoFi frames its stablecoin and tokenized-deposit strategy, which now sits on a single national bank charter. SoFi can pay interest on SOFIE because it is a deposit, while SoFiUSD, like any payment stablecoin, cannot. With both in one app and a 1:1 switch, SoFi keeps the balance whether a customer wants yield or wants to move money, and the deposits fund its loans.
The regulatory backdrop is also relevant. The OCC finalized its GENIUS Act rule on October 21, keeping the ban on stablecoin issuers paying interest to holders and reviewing affiliate and third-party yield arrangements case by case. The rule and the act take effect January 18, 2027. For holders and traders, management commentary on SOFIE and SoFiUSD may clarify how the product fits that framework. Note that the report may or may not break out SOFIE balances.
