Yuga Labs plans to randomly award serialized Mudwater packs about 30 days after the initial claim opened, which points to roughly mid-November 2026. The exact day is not confirmed; the packs are Solana NFTs, so SOL is the coin involved.

What is happening

Mudwater is a trading card game from Yuga Labs, the company behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club. Its first set, "Swamp Origins", has 120 card designs with foil and serialized editions, 2.4 million cards in total. The rarest tier is a serialized "cracked ice" one of one, and there are eight of them. Every card exists both as a Solana NFT and as a printed card kept in a vault.

The initial claim opened at 23:35 UTC on 17 October 2026 and runs until 19 January 2027, 00:00 UTC. Each Bored Ape holder can claim 10 free packs and each Mutant Ape holder 2 packs, paying only Ethereum gas and a cross-chain fee. The packs are delivered to a Solana wallet.

According to the official Mudwater site, serialized packs will be awarded at random 30 days after the claim opened. This places the award around mid-November 2026. The date has not been confirmed, and the sources do not say how the random selection will work or how many serialized packs will be handed out.

Why it matters

Serialized editions are the scarcest items in the set, so a random award can matter to apes holders who claim their packs.
