21shares Ethereum Staking ETF (TETH) 100% sponsor fee waiver in effect through Oct 8, 2027

21shares has extended the 100% sponsor fee waiver for its Ethereum Staking ETF (TETH) by 12 months, so the waiver now runs through October 8, 2027. The extension applies to the fund's exposure to ETH and was announced on October 6, 2026.

What is happening

21shares, one of the world's largest issuers of cryptocurrency exchange traded funds, announced a 12-month extension of the sponsor fee waiver for the 21shares Ethereum Staking ETF (TETH). The waiver was first introduced in October 2025, alongside the integration of staking features into the product. With the extension, it remains in effect for an additional year, through October 8, 2027.

The fee waiver covers the full sponsor fee. It applies automatically to all current and prospective shareholders, and no action is required from investors.

TETH uses staking: the trust participates in Ethereum's network validation process, which gives investors exposure to the yield-generating potential of the protocol. As of October 1, 2026, the net staking reward for TETH, after the deduction of fees and expenses, is 2.65%. Duncan Moir, President and Chief Investment Officer at 21shares, said the extension underscores the company's commitment to cost-efficient access to Ethereum and to passing the native benefits of blockchain technology back to investors at zero cost.

Why it matters

For holders of TETH shares, a waived sponsor fee means that the fund's sponsor fee does not reduce returns for another year. Combined with staking, the product offers ETH exposure through a traditional ETF wrapper together with a staking reward, which the issuer reports at 2.65% net as of the start of October 2026. Staking rewards are not fixed and can change over time.

For traders and allocators comparing Ethereum ETFs, the fee level is one of the main points of differentiation between products. An extended full waiver is a relevant factor when assessing the cost of holding TETH versus other ETH-linked funds. The extension also gives investors clarity on the fee terms through October 2027, after which the terms of the waiver would need to be checked again.
