Consensus Hong Kong 2027, CoinDesk's Asian flagship conference on artificial intelligence, blockchain and digital assets, is scheduled for February 1 to 3, 2027, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The event is not tied to any specific coin.

What is happening

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with CoinDesk to host Consensus as its Asian flagship event for three consecutive years, from 2027 to 2029. The 2027 edition is the first under this agreement and takes place at HKCEC from February 1 to 3.

The conference gathers policymakers, investors and industry leaders. According to the organisers, next year's expanded programme will feature AI as a core theme alongside digital assets, reflecting the growing convergence of the two fields.

Previous editions generated more than 350 side events across the city, including investor meet-ups and networking receptions. These events also contribute to activity in the local tourism, hotel and retail sectors.

Why it matters

Large industry conferences are places where regulators, investors and project teams meet and where partnerships, product launches and policy discussions are often announced. For market participants, the programme and the surrounding side events can be a source of news about the digital asset sector in Asia, as well as about how AI and blockchain are being combined.

The three-year agreement with the tourism board signals continuity for the event in Hong Kong.
